Partage Plus Kickoff Meeting

Budapest, Iparművészeti Múzeum
(Museum of Applied Arts), IMM

21st of March 23rd of March 2012

At the end of March 28 representatives of 15 different European nations were gathering at the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest to take part at the first official Partage Plus meeting.

After a warm welcome and an introduction of the Museum of Applied Arts by Zsombor Jékely, deputy director of the IMM, the project coordinator Gordon McKenna gave an overview of Europeana and the Partage Plus project. In the course of the next two years all the attendant nations will work hand in hand to enlarge the number of Art Nouveau expressions available in the Europeana.

During the three-day conference project relevant issues such as digitization, 3D modeling, metadata enrichment and delivery as well as public relation and work coordination were on the agenda. The Kickoff Meeting was to that effect crowned with success as all project members had the opportunity to get to know each other better. Guided tours through the Applied Arts Museum as well as dinners made the Partage Plus conference round and gave the go-ahead to a challenging and beneficial venture.

Below are some pictures of the Museum of Applied Arts, and some Art Nouveau object on view in the permanent exhibition.
