New King for the Netherlands

The Dutch will have their first king in more than 120 years when Willem-Alexander succeeds his mother Queen Beatrix this month.

On April 30, 2013 the queen of The Netherlands will abdicate the throne. On this day the new king and queen will be inaugurated.

On September 6, 1898, a week after her eighteenth birthday, the investiture of Queen Wilhelmina of The Netherlands took place. The collection of the Drents Museum contains a few Art Nouveau memorabilia to this day, which will be digitized for Partage Plus: Like a crowning's calendar designed by Johann Georg van Caspel (1870 - 1928) and the sheet music for a crowing's song designed by Th. Molkenboer (1871 - 1920).
