22k Art Nouveau records successfully digitised

Over 22k digital images and records of Art Nouveau objects, artworks, posters and buildings have been made publically available through the Europeana website thanks to the achievements of the Partage Plus project, coordinated by Collections Trust.

Works by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, René Lalique, Gustav Klimt and other notable Art Nouveau figures can now be viewed online – in many cases for the first time.

Partage Plus is a Europeana project, funded by the European Commission. Work began in March 2012 to digitise c75k items with the aim of enabling access to information and digital content on the European cultural heritage of the Art Nouveau period. Today’s announcement marks a major milestone for this ambitious project.

Katie Smith, Projects and Programmes Manager at Collections Trust commented: ‘This is an exciting achievement, not only for the partners involved in the project, but also for Art Nouveau enthusiasts around the world. Everyone can now view beautiful images, records and even 3D models of important artworks online through the Europeana website’.
