    JUGENDFEBER - A play about the love for Art Nouveau

    The Art Nouveau Center in Norway 21.10.2013 - 08.11.2013 The play is a meeting between the audience and the different rooms and objects that occupy the Art Nouveau Center in Ålesund, Norway. The actress Ingrid Bakke takes the audience on a journey through the old pharmacy. Along the way they will encounter different characters who suffer from Art Nouveau-fever. The only thing that links these characters together is their love for the Art Nouveau objects. The play is about the beauty and esthetics of Art Nouveau, but also about what makes some people love it so much and what makes something beautiful.

    In July fans of the Art Nouveau period had the chance to attend a lecture delivered by Dr. Petra Matějovičová from UPM, Prague. The event took place in the Chateau Konopiště and was organized by the National Heritage Institute.

    Exhibition „Atelier” at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow

    The Wojciech Weiss Museum Foundation and the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow prepared an exhibition titled "Atelier". The exhibition shows the Academy’s daily life and authentic items associated with the painting workshops that were in the studios at the turn of the 19th century.

    Art Nouveau World Day celebrations at The Weiss (WWMF)

    For the Art Nouveau World Day the Wojciech Weiss Museum Foundation has prepared a unique reconstruction of the interior which was first presented at the Exhibition of Architecture and Interiors in the Garden Surroundings in Krakow in 1912. The exhibition was one of the pioneering series of exhibits in Central Europe, referring to the Ebenezer Howard’s concept of the garden city.

    MNAC: Rafael Masó, from an auction to Europeana

    It was a lucky coincidence that just recently a coat-rack-cum-umbrella-stand by the artist Rafael Masó, who produced part of his work under the influence of Modernisme, was sold at auction. The Fundació Rafael Masó in Girona purchased this interesting object and decided to give it to the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, on a long-term loan. On Tuesday, July 16 the coat rack-umbrella stand was grandly unveiled.

    Love Art Nouveau on Flickr

    Collections Trust re-launched their Love Art Nouveau campaign to coincide with Art Nouveau World Day (June 10), organised by The Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest and Szecessziós Magazin (Art Nouveau Magazine) in Budapest. This was the week of the anniversary of both Antonio Gaudi and Ödön Lechner.

    Partage Plus was represented at the Open Culture 2013 event, which is organised annually by the Collections Trust. The stand enabled attendees to look at some of the work carried out in the project, preview the 3D models, understand how to get involved and make their own Partage Plus badge.

    Drents Museum: Lyrical Lines

    A collection of 70 top pieces of the Grafische Sammlung from the Landesgalerie Linz, in Austria, entitled ‘Lyrical Lines’ (Lyrische Lijnen) will be exhibited in the Drents Museum from June 29th until September 22nd.
