MNAC: Saint George's Day
Today is a celebration day in Catalonia - it is Saint George's Day! Saint George's Day is a popular festive day in Catalonia when book and rose stalls, and, above all, floods of people, take over the streets of all Catalan towns and villages. Design museum Gent: Close-up
The Partage Plus section on the Design museum Gent’s website has been developed further, and now contains the new section called “Close-up”. On a regular basis this section places a chosen object or ensemble, that is often not on display, in the spotlight. You get to know the story behind the piece and can look at it in detail with the different pictures. The first object in Close-up is the inkwell made by Adrien Dalpayrat and Edouard Colonna (?) for Bing’s L’Art Nouveau. The section exists in Dutch and English.

We are happy to inform you about a recent publication by the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague (UPM). The monograph on the Czech artist and designer Vojtěch Preissig, written by Partage Plus project member Lucie Vlčková, presents for the first time the complete facts on Preissig’s rich body of work. The work of Vojtěch Preissig (1873—1944), one of the most accomplished Czech graphic artists of the first half of the 20th century, encompasses a broad range of fields and types of graphic design and decorative art, beginning with occasional prints (posters, invitation cards, announcements, New Year cards, bookplates), followed by book and magazine illustrations, ornamental designs and patterns (universal vignettes, decorative borders, flyleafs), all the way to typography. Graphics, prints and illustrations by Preissig from the collection of UPM were digitised for the Partage Plus project and will be available through Europeana soon.
